Bravo Kerry
For most of his public life John Kerry was simply a D operative. Whichever way the D wind blew, he sailed. Now he's still serving a D president, but most of what he does and says is NOT standard D/R doctrine. He was clearly appointed to clean up BushClinton messes, and he's doing a damn good job.
Now he's gone a step beyond, with a plea to the Imperial Media:
Remember this: No country is immune from terrorism. It’s easy to terrorize. Government and law enforcement have to be correct 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. But if you decide one day you’re going to be a terrorist and you’re willing to kill yourself, you can go out and kill some people. You can make some noise. Perhaps the media would do us all a service if they didn’t cover it quite as much. People wouldn’t know what’s going on.Amen. This applies to ALL mass shooting incidents whether defined as "terrorist" or "crazy". It's not simply a need for publicity. Some types of crazies are compelled to imitate violence. If they don't hear it, they can't copy it. It's time for a new form of Fairness Doctrine. Every violent death must get the SAME COVERAGE from media. If you give 3 weeks of 24-hour coverage to a mass shooting incident, you must also give 3 weeks of 24-hour coverage to EACH AND EVERY gang murder. If you give a total of 10 seconds to each gang murder, you must give a total of 10 seconds to each mass shooting. ¶ 4:17 AM
