Do the popups know something?
Slatan magazine, normally serving its eponym loyally, is putting in a little word for God this week with an
anti-marathon campaign.
The point is purely GOOD. Marathons are all consumption, zero production. When you spend half a year preparing to run Bloomsday or whatever, you are not making anything new, even in your imagination. You are not blazing any new trails, even in writing. You're just marching marching marching marching marching.
One of the articles may be counterproductive because it urges people to do BIG IMPORTANT things. BIG goals can lead to disappointment and burnout. Just MAKE something, no matter how important or insignificant. Improve your skills.
Unfortunately the popup advertisers are grabbing the GOOD point and running 26.3 miles in the wrong direction:
