In the way
Listening to Cruz making a "plausible" argument... Says that he understands why people are angry with the DC Establishment... says that Trump has been equally involved with the Washington Establishment for a long time.
Okay, true. But you were IN A POSITION OF POWER, specifically in the Senate. Repoofs in the Senate could have fixed or ameliorated several of these problems. You could have turned down all the Free Trade treaties by Bush Senior, Clinton, Bush Junior, and Obama. You could have put Glass-Steagall back in place and appointed strong regulators to clamp down on the central bank. You could have voted down TARP and all of its variants.
No, you did the opposite. You CREATED the problem that is now making people angry. It doesn't matter if you "understand" why people dislike your actions. They were still YOUR actions, not mine and not Trump's.
After a burglar steals my money, I don't care if he "understands". He could have chosen not to steal my money.

Even worse is
this interview with Tony Blair, who doesn't
pretend to understand. He brought in lots of immigrants and made lots of trade treaties, intentionally cheapening wages for ordinary Brits. Now he thinks his victims, ordinary Brits, can undo HIS CRIME by getting more education.
Tony Blair has told unemployed British workers "not to blame migrants for having taken your job" claiming they should get a better education to "allow them to operate in the modern world" instead.
The former Labour Prime Minister also warned that a lot of the anger surrounding the migration debate is "prejudice" and an easy response to stagnating wages in the UK.
This is like the murderer who says "I don't know why my gun fired. Those dumb prejudiced people shouldn't have been in the way when my gun fired. If they had been more enlightened and less bigoted, they would have been in some other room. They should have known that my gun was going to shoot."
