The constitution entitles Iranians to basic healthcare, and most receive subsidized prescription drugs and vaccination programs. An extensive network of public clinics offers basic care at low cost, and general and specialty hospitals operated by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education (MOHME) provide higher levels of care. In most large cities, well-to-do persons use private clinics and hospitals that charge high fees. ... In 2013, Bloomberg News ranked Iran 45th most efficient healthcare system ahead of United States and Brazil.Hmm. Better than US isn't saying much, but the other stats describe a pretty good system. Looking at the Bloomberg chart cited, Korea is near the top in efficiency, so it wouldn't expect to learn much in that department. Since the proposed project is based at a university, maybe it's more about training than efficiency. Wiki says:
Iran has been very successful in training/educating the necessary human resources for its health system. The system of almost 30 years ago where the country was facing a shortage of all kinds of skilled personnel in the health and medical sector has been completely changed into one in which the necessary professionals now completely suffice the country’s needs. There are now 488 government funded hospitals in Iran. There were 0.5-1.1 physicians per 1000 population in 2004 according to various estimates (about 46 percent of physicians were women). In other words, exile forced self-sufficiency. When you can't send students abroad, you have to do it yourself. Note also 46% are women????? No! No! That can't be true! Prophet Bibi and all of his neocon subprophets have been telling us 1000000 times per second that Persia (or rather Eye-Rain) is a primitive place where women are mere household slaves. Maybe this Eye-Rain is an entirely different country that exists only in the tapeworm-infested feverbrain of Our Prophet. That must be the explanation. Our Prophet Bibi never lies.
