Valid complaint, and that's GOOD.
Was reading some articles complaining about lower Fed funding for "science" research. Seemed wrong, so I checked. Turns out they're generally right, which is GOOD. If we want to recover real science, all fed funding needs to disappear. Big science is automatically bad science. Any project that's worth doing can be crowdfunded.
The graph (from this info) shows funding for various types of "science" as percent of GDP. Sure enough, gradual decline in all areas EXCEPT medicine, consistent since 1970. Each new admin starts with a one-year upstroke then the slow decline resumes.
Who do "scientists" hate most ferociously? Bush The Son. And who gave them the most? Bush The Son. (The bump in Obama was exclusively from temporary and pointless ARRA projects.)
Nastyass monsters. They are completely uninterested in science. They only want to kill the Uncool so the Cool can have The Planet to themselves. Bush The Son served the Cool more generously than any president except Nixon. But Nixon and Bush The Son are Uncool, so their service doesn't exist.
Calibration: The top peak in Bush The Son is 0.25% (a quarter of one percent) of GDP.
