Why do they bother?
Constant theme lately. Why do monopolistic elites even bother to say this crap? When you own everything, it doesn't matter what you say. Might as well be honest.
A little personal example: I've been using
Group Health for about 6 years now. I had been on an individual plan for $300/month, which was tolerable. When Romneycare went into effect in 2012, the plan instantly jumped to $500 "to cover pregnancy services". I couldn't afford that amount for long, but tolerated it for a couple years because I was close to Medicare. After 65, the Group Health basic Medicare B plan was only $50. Extremely tolerable.
Last month GHC was bought by Kaiser Permanente. Everyone knows what happens when a bigger monopoly takes over a smaller one. Prices go up, services get worse.
Nevertheless, GHC sent out a letter claiming the opposite. Everything will be the same but better.
Well, except that prices have
already gone up. The Medicare B plan jumped from $50 to $79 per month, and I'm sure more increases are on the way, followed by severe cuts in service, then complete wipeout of the entire enterprise. Count on it.
This is, of course, the total and exact purpose of Romneycare.
Obvious from the start. Infinite monopoly, infinite riches for the rich, zero service to the proles.
