Non-tautological Trump
When Trump said "outrageous" things about Mexicans,
I was glad to hear someone talking about a subject that can't be talked about.
But his approach seemed oddly out of phase. The problem with Mexican immigration is not the Mexicans themselves. There are two separate problems, both caused by Repooflican and Democrat politicians who are more loyal to Mexico than to USA.
(1) Every Mexican worker who comes in, WHETHER LEGAL OR NOT, takes work from poor Americans. Mexico's economy and family structure are different from ours. The net effect is a huge difference in currency value that isn't mirrored by the exchange rate. Money paid to a Mexican who is sending it home to his family is worth far MORE than the same money paid to an American who is taking it home to his family. That's why Americans won't do the work for the "same" money. It's not the same money.
(2) We intentionally bring in Mexican gangsters to stir up trouble here, purely for the sake of creating crime and killing Americans. This is, of course, the basic purpose of Repooflicans and Democrats.

Now after the McCain "outrage", I'm more inclined to believe the folks who think Trump is an Agent Provocateur working for Dems, maybe for Hillary.
Trump's approach to McCain is just weird.
First, McCain isn't running this time, so he isn't a subject we need to discuss at all. Unlike immigration, he's completely irrelevant.
Second, the problem with McCain wasn't that he was captured. Getting captured is mainly the fault of overall strategy, not the soldier.
The problem with McCain was (and still is!) that he didn't learn the same lessons other soldiers learned. It's an absolute universal, known and written for 5000 years. Ex-soldiers HATE WAR because they've been in it. Ex-soldiers who go into politics become EXTREMELY CAREFUL about getting involved in war, which makes them good politicians. Other things being equal, you should prefer an ex-soldier in top political positions.
McCain breaks the universal rule all to hell. His war experience was harder than most, but he is the wildest warmonger ever. He wants to invade and occupy EVERY COUNTRY that insults Our Prophet Binyamin Netanyahu. He's always ready to send young men to kill and be killed ... but he's NOT ready to save OUR lives by interrogating an enemy.
He's crazy. Whether he's crazy because of his war experience or despite it is irrelevant. He's crazy.
Trump missed all of that,
steering his audience into an utterly irrelevant track.
That's twice. Twice is enough.

Plaintive sidenote: It would be SO DAMN REFRESHING to hear JUST ONE FUCKING VOICE saying JUST ONE FUCKING TRUTH in public. JUST ONE. It hasn't happened so far in my adult life. Eisenhower said a few true things, but I was too young to hear them 'live'. FDR unquestionably said some true things, which is why I try to follow him.
