When I read the above 'critical moment' shit, I was listening to old radio news from early 1945, mainly about the desperate Ardennes Offensive. The broadcast briefly mentioned a mess in Greece. Sounded familiar, so I
looked it up. After kicking out the Krauts, the Brits occupied Greece with the help of local leftist partizans. An arrangement that worked well in other Balkan countries, but didn't work in Greece. Two factions among the partizans couldn't get along and started a mini-revolution, which the Brits put down harshly. In '46 the mess finally developed into a full civil war. Should we expect Greece to clean up its own act this time? No, but the only hope is complete independence, with no helpers or enablers or blame targets. Greeks must be forced to blame Greeks.

Later thought: Well, maybe EU is right. The physical aspects are hugely different: this crisis doesn't involve millions of soldiers fighting and dying. But the consequences could be similar. D-Day led to the collapse of the Third Reich. If Grexit leads to the total collapse of the Fourth Reich, it will be an event of similar importance and similar holiness.
