Big banks are
pushing hard toward cashless commerce, eliminating paper rectangles altogether. No mystery there. Total control.
Scanning the aggregated news on the subject, things get more varied.
The news for 'cashless' seems to cluster in 4 places. US/UK, Scandinavia, India and Nigeria. The situation is different in each place.
In US/UK the talk is mainly coming from bankers and their slaves. A few thinkers are resisting. The usual "populists" and "leftists" have already been useful-idioted into adopting Bitcoin, which is the deepest and most perfect form of cashless enslavement because it's advertised as like COOOOOL and like rebellious and like private and shit. Right, dood. Run all your transactions directly through NSA Headquarters using encryption that NSA designed and shit. Like maximal anonymity and shit. Don't say I didn't
warn you and shit. More to the fucking point, don't fucking say the fucking
FOUNDER OF FUCKING BITCOIN didn't fucking warn you and shit. Do you see the words "classified" and "Hughes" in that article? Obviously you don't and shit.
Despite the idiots, ordinary Americans are unlikely to give up paper rectangles easily. Memories of 1929 have faded, but 2008 is still fresh. Frontier contrariness still
thrives in a few places.
In Scandinavia, cashlessness is already complete. No mystery. Scandinavians are not living things. They are soulless mechanisms which have no need for autonomy. Government turns the knobs, and Scandinavian mechanisms move in precise synchrony.
In India and Nigeria there's tremendous opinion pressure from elites, and some apparent acceptance by ordinary business and people. This does NOT fit the pattern.
Hindoos are at least partly alive, and more to the point they're
huge hoarders of gold. Nobody beats Hindoos at holding SOLID cash.
Nigerians are EXTREMELY alive, autonomous and creative. Why are their elites even bothering to push this idea?
