Analog, if you will
BBC is interviewing some Kraut 'installation artist' who has created an organization based on his 'installations'. The project is called
Dead Drops, using an old spycraft term for hidden-in-plain-sight document placements. These installations are simply USB sticks glued in various places, where anyone can plug their iPhone gadget and upload anything to the USB stick.
Interviewer said one hugely important thing to the 'artist'.
"This is sort of
analog, if you will, isn't it?"
I'm pretty sure the BBC dude knows the technical meanings of analog and digital, which is why
if you will. BBC creatures are evil but not uninformed. Nevertheless, the words have acquired a more philosophical meaning, creating a
sharp line between two ways of living.
We understand now: Using a digital device invites
Five Eyes to read your movements and gestures and thoughts. Using an analog device leaves you disconnected from Five Eyes.
Digital means you are contained within Big Transgendered Sibling.
Analog means you are contained within your own body and soul.
