Inform?
Satan-Review features an interview with a foreign adventurer who claims to be a "journalist". The "journalist" hands us the usual crap:

“The basic purpose of a journalist is to witness and inform,” Pickett said. “I believe in this mission. I have learned that we can’t save the world, but we can help others understand what is happening, and be good people while doing it.

Witness and inform. I suppose it's good that adventure-minded people have a way to use their talents, but I don't understand "witness and inform".

Down to basics. Aside from the info provided directly by our own senses, what information do we really need? Specifically, what info is worth paying a specialist to fetch it for us?

I can think of three types of info, all classified as warnings. If journalists are worth paying, they would give us all three types of warning in a responsible and timely way.

(1) Impending weather.
(2) Crime in the neighborhood.
(3) Impending attacks by bombers or similar war machines.

Impending weather is covered by Weather.com and Wunderground.com and the Weather Bureau. All of these services are free, but they're important and accurate enough that I'd gladly pay a small amount to subscribe.

Crime in the neighborhood was completely unhandled until very recently. Now it's covered by the Spokane-News facebook page. This source filters police and fire dispatch, and includes tremendously valuable responses from local people who are close to the incidents or involved in the incidents. Serious and complete information. This is also free, but I'd gladly pay a significant amount to subscribe.

Impending attacks? Well, there have been two of these in living memory. 1941, 2001. Journalists completely failed to warn of either one, and still haven't provided any facts about the second one. You might also include the 2008 economic coup, which appears to have been an attack by some set of foreign powers. Journalists haven't even started to cover that one. Precisely zero info, lots of intentional misinfo.

Journalists don't even pretend to cover the first two necessary warnings. They pretend to handle the third type, but fail completely.

Conclusion: Journalists are absolutely unnecessary. They only serve to carry lethal propaganda for the super-rich and the Chosen.
