Heard on BBC just now:
"Obama is trying to do it a different way from Bush. Obama doesn't want to act unilaterally in
the Middle East, so he's trying to recruit allies to go along with him."
DIFFERENT WAY? Lesus Christ. 2003 wasn't all that long ago, asshole. When Bush decided to invade Iraq, he spent a whole year trying to line up the UN and other allies, trying to get someone else to share the load and the blame. It didn't work, so he finally went ahead and did it on his own.
The only DIFFERENT part is that Obama has a D on his shirt, which makes him Our Lord And Savior Amen to all journalists, while Bush has an R on his shirt, which makes him Heart Of Evil Darkness to all journalists. Aside from the letter and the fanbase, they're the same man.

For balance: Just after that nonsense, BBC did something rare and fine. Did exactly what an international broadcaster SHOULD be doing. They told us about
interesting and unusual events happening in interesting and unusual places, and gave us a sonic picture of the unusual events. Specifically, the Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan. The games are under the auspices of CIS, which is pretty much the Soviet Commonwealth. According to
this article, the games include "kok bory, kyresh, alysh, toguz korgool, er enish, kunan chabysh, alaman baige, zhorgo salysh and ordo."
Now that's EXOTIC. Google hardly knew what to do with those names. Showed pretty much the same set of pictures for each of them.
