Musical echo
Super-random thought. Heard a familiar '90s pop tune on the radio yesterday. Remembered liking the song when it was common. Why did I like it? There was something attractively relentless about the tune.... Reminded me of something much older ..... Yes, that's it.
The '90s pop tune: Gangstas Paradise.
The much older tune: the Mockingbird lullaby.
Same tune, transposed into minor. Similar sequential pattern in the words. Obviously not the same theme!
