Comments can be bad for science. That's why, here at PopularScience.com, we're shutting them off. ... A politically motivated, decades-long war on expertise has eroded the popular consensus on a wide variety of scientifically validated topics. Everything, from evolution to the origins of climate change, is mistakenly up for grabs again. Scientific certainty is just another thing for two people to "debate" on television.It's simple. The "war on expertise" started because experts are evil. Experts are monstrous Satans with infinite egos who have destroyed science to serve their own bloodthirsty insatiable hunger for power and money. In real non-expert science, everything is ALWAYS "up for grabs". That's the EXACT PURPOSE of doing things the scientific way, as opposed to the religious way. In real science, every conclusion can be overturned by new data. In real science, "Let's go to the lab and find out" is the point of the game, and real scientists are always ready for the game. Thanks ever so much for proving OUR point, sadistic Expert Tyrants. You are Savonarola, not Galileo.
