In his most widely anticipated address since taking over the leadership of the Church, the Most Rev Justin Welby insisted that it was now “absurd and impossible” to ignore an “overwhelming” change in social attitudes. ... Archbishop warned church leaders that they needed to reassess their own attitudes to gay people – even if they do not “like it”. ... He is understood to have approached Stonewall, which led the campaign in favour of gay marriage, to invite it into church schools to teach up to a million children about homosexuality. ... “We may or may not like it but we must accept that there is a revolution in the area of sexuality,” the Archbishop said.Satan has just declared flatly and openly that he is fully, totally and absolutely in charge. The former Church has been transformed into a flaming division of Hell. Couldn't be any clearer. You want an Antichrist? This freakfag will do until the real thing comes along. In case the basic point is not clear, here is the basic point, in strictly secular form, with no theology or theory. By definition a church or a religion does not follow current fashion. A church or a religion represents permanent principles of morality, and works to oppose current fashion when current fashion is immoral. If a religion follows current fashion, it has ceased to be a religion. It may be a fine mutual admiration club for super-rich criminals, but it is no longer a religion.
Polistra was named after the original townsite of Manhattan (the one in Kansas). When I was growing up in Manhattan, I spent a lot of time exploring by foot, bike, and car. I discovered the ruins of an old mill along Wildcat Creek, and decided (inaccurately) that it was the remains of the original site of Polistra. Accurate or not, I've always liked the name, with its echoes of Poland (an under-appreciated friend of freedom) and stars. ==== The title icon is explained here. ==== Switchover: This 2007 entry marks a sharp change in worldview from neocon to pure populist. ===== The long illustrated story of Polistra's Dream is a time-travel fable, attempting to answer the dangerous revision of New Deal history propagated by Amity Shlaes. The Dream has 8 episodes, linked in a chain from the first. This entry explains the Shlaes connection.
