Harder to come by?
Just another little 30-second disproof.
NPR included a short item in tonight's news about some entrepreneur who is trying to replace skiing with rollerskating, or something like that. Sport is over my head, so I probably don't understand.
The announcer casually said, as an absolutely obvious fact that everyone knows, "Snow is getting harder to come by in many parts of the world, so he hopes his invention will catch on."
Harder to come by? Here's a 46-year plot of Northern Hemisphere snow cover directly from
NOAA.Looks to me like the overall trend is very slightly upward over the last 20 years, and strongly upward over 40 years.
As always, the most effective propaganda is a flat definite statement, given as a casual mention of something that hardly needs to be described or justified. If you act like you have to define or defend your statement, you've lost the propaganda battle.
