Interesting view from Egypt
I've been occasionally watching the Youtube clips of Ummubasma. She's a Dutch woman who married an Egyptian, converted to Islam, and moved to Egypt. She has a fine humorous outlook on human foibles.
Now that Egypt has a new government, she notes (with the help of some local dogs) that neighborhoods are starting to get more attention; the gov't is helping to clean up old trash piles and improve infrastructure.
Dogs and backhoes.
This is what happens when a regime stops focusing on geopolitical games and starts trying to satisfy its own people. Yes, the new gov'ts in that part of the world will be more strongly Islamic, because their own people are strongly Islamic. None of our damn business.
When do we get our reform? When do Western gov'ts stop playing the geopolitical game and start satisfying our own people?
