Rasmussen GETS it.
In this clip pollster Scott Rasmussen gives a long and thoughtful lecture about the collapse of America. He gets it right, while nearly all politicians and commentators are getting it wrong.
Rasmussen says Americans have been losing trust in the government in Washington since 1963, and the Goldman Sachs armed robbery of the entire treasury in 2008 (commonly known as TARP) was the absolute last straw for the majority of Americans.
DC no longer has the
consent of the governed, and there's no obvious way to regain the consent.
Strong words, and derived objectively from his own polling over the years.
Rasmussen thinks one possible way to regain our confidence would be to run a genuine referendum on some important questions. Congress could propose a Social Security reform package and let the people's direct vote determine the result.
Pretty good idea, but ain't gonna happen. DC doesn't want or need the consent of the governed. For Goldman Sachs, the people of this alien and distant land called America are
nothing but poison.
