Bill Kristol, who has often been a bit squishy, came out this morning hard as diamond on North Korea. Just now on Fox, he said (approximate quote): "I notice that Japan is starting to work on its own nuclear weapons. If we are so
unreliable that our allies now have to defend themselves, it's a bad sign. Do we really want everybody in that part of the world rattling nukes at each other?"
He went on to characterize the Second Ford Administration as 'Clintonian'. I think that's a little too nice; after all, Clinton did use military force in some places. Carterian is more like it. Or Gandhian.
