Smart Chao
U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao today announced a National Emergency Grant of up to $62.1 million, with an initial release of $20.7 million, to provide approximately 10,000 temporary jobs for dislocated workers to help in recovery and clean-up efforts underway in Louisiana in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. First really smart move by the admin in responding to Katrina. Getting ahead of the curve for the first time. Sort of like WPA/CCC redux... Let's hope it doesn't get blocked or ruined by idiot bureaucrats or judges. Especially the latter.
